The car started (so no flat battery then), the car even moved, and after a days driving the brake discs had scrubbed clean (not like last time when they all had to be replaced). But sadly it did not pass the 'Can I open the boot test'. I cannot even move the release cable. I guess it has rusted into place.

It mounts the root fs (ext2 i think) for read only to do a fsck, but it stops after it mounts, and never seems to get to the fsck. it just sits there.

The tail-lid lock has stuck in the "in" position. I have got into the boot area from the back seats and there is no obvious way of releasing the lock. The trim looks as through it cannot be taken away unless the tail-lid is opened up. Anyone have any idea how I remove this lock or release it?
